We have found that there can be an issue with the std spark plugs in the LS motors (the heat range is too hot ) And in some cases both Konrad and myself have seen the plugs take the end of the earth electrode.
The problem is that there is no colder plug available in New Zealand that fits, So I have made an inquiry to the states where they seem to be available. I have also bought in a colder range of thermostats for the motors. My own motor has done a plug in and I am fitting Iridium plugs in the interim as they are one number colder but the wrong gap.

Its not something to worry about but Definitely dont use 91 fuel if you have the std plugs, thats what I did as the fuel station had run out of 95 and I topped up with 91..........My advice is to fit a lower temp thermostat and colder plugs if you have any concerns,

I put a set of Iridiums in my motor today and the result was unreal....not 100% sure why but am going to put a set in another motor tomorrow and try it, I also put a colder thermostat which dropped the engine temp as well.
Ill let you know, If it is the plugs ill give you the part number of the iridiums

We continue to progress with the LS engines and have sent numerious Loom/computer system out both Local and overseas and I am forever fine tuning and up grading my tunes, We have a LS9...yes an LS9 on its way soon (details soon)
Here is a 2nd hand 5.3 LS motor that I have rebuilt and will be fitted into a scott boat with 8" two stage. It has a 5.5m boat loom that is being supplied making it real easy for the owner to wire into his new boat, It is complete with water proof plugs for the bilge pumps etc.
One thing we have struggled with is finding a water resistant method to connect the main power supply from the motor to the key yet still allow for easy engine removal (due to the size of the cable) This solves two problems, First its easy to disconnect from the motor and it provides 50amp protection for the whole system, and its sealed with "o" rings and terminals are gold plated as are the fuses
