    Hi All,
A lake trips been suggested on a few occasions and Melisa has finally done something about it and suggested we do it on Sun 8th March, good idea I say. So bring your boat, tube, skiis, wife and kids and we'll head to the lake for a relaxing day. Can anybody suggest a good lake, I've only been to Lake Camp, is there another lake any closer or a better suggestion?

Lake Camp sounds a bit suss  Was that Mikes idea?

The other choices close by would be Lake lyndon @ Porters Pass or Lake Hood in Ashburton

Hood will be busy on the weekends, last time I drove past Lydon in the evening there were plenty of fish jumping

The only thoughts I would have about the 2 lakes are that Lyndon is often very windy especially if it is blowing N/W, Camp is a little more forgiving and you can change ends to suit the wind conditions. I would think that Camp is a little closer? Also the other thing that may or may not be relevant is that last time I was there, there were a couple of lesbians staying in a Van and swimming naked, they may still be there

    Hi all,
Lake trip all go weather permitting, if we plan to meet at Lake Lyndon round 10.30am. Could somebody whose been there before suggest a meeting place on the way so that those of us who don't know where we are going can follow? If the weather is no good I will post the cancellation here first thing Sun morn.

If anyone is planning on turning up later, depending on the what the weather is doing, we may end up at the opposite end of the lake from the main road. There is a shingle road just on the left as you get to the lake, just head down this road 3-4Km there is a lodge type building there with a road access out to the lake.

Great day at the lake today, what a cool wee lake Lyndon is and only an hour for Christchurch. The weather was perfect and the kids had a great day. Mike R has some more pics I'm surprised they're not up yet

    Okay then.
Got home last night and sort of crashed out on the the couch. The eye lids needed a little rest.
It was a great day out, plenty of sunshine, got burnt as a result and now have a wickedly sunburnt nose & face. All the kids seem to have ball swimming and biscuiting behind the boats. Even heard a report of some jellyfish seen in the lake by one young swimmer.
