Went to scrutineering with the boat tonight so we could race R class this weekend for a bit of fun, Dawn pulled out so my main nav stepped up again (thanks Mike R) and we will be racing tomorrow and sun, Circut racing tomorrow on the Mac then up the Rakaia and down the Mac on Sun, River conditions will suit the big boys but there are some short cut to be had for us to play in

Hope you got time to hook up the heater today

I think we're going to need it.

Todays Racing was prity average weather wise (to say the least) but it was warmer and more comfortable in the boat than watching. The course was a big drag strip off 11km. Mike R and I had a clean round except on the last circuit where the rear grill bolts fell out and we went from 105 to about 35 in about 1 second ...but we managed to limp home with the grill hanging down.
Dawn took some pics withe wrong settings on the camera so hopefully some others have some...

Rakaia leg has been cancelled and it sounds like they are going to do a run up and down Waimak, they're having a briefing at 10.30

well i can tell you this southern boy despite my best efforts to get there is still suffering electrical and heating issues, the new lights in the kitchenstill aint connected and the new diesel burner aint fitted, hence some remedial round the house work is now overdue, not to mention the weather report and after talkin to the lads up there last night i aint missing a thing except a wet ass and hail in the face.sounds like some of the r-class entrants are producing some rather good turns of speed, and we only be racing for 4th or 5th any way i only got 99.4kph outa the bluelady, maybe i got too mant lines out an that slowin me down?

We had a shocker day today with a big push just above the pylons, And to be honest we were ready to trailer home from the top, I cannot say enough about Lance Kerr and Ken from SSS Engineering for telling me to forget it and race back(where we endeded up in the irrigation channel where we had another big push) as they said "you never know what may happen". After 30..odd min and sore backs we were back going and just happy to boat back down and get on the trailer......but as the boys said you never know.. and it happened Our good natured rivals had a mechanical issue giving us the win,
I feel sorry for them because they out drove us today and should have taken it...
So at the end I learned something from the ones that have been there done it, THANKS GUYS

    Matt....Harden up
