Thats the problem with people that don't take the time to learn the river rules or join the club, I reckon the best thing you can do is wave them down & have a chat.

I had it once up the gorge when I met a group of boats coming down, first 2 came down my left side & the 3rd straight at me on the wrong side & I had to take avoiding action, the fourth back down the left, Not nice!

They probably think that as you drive a car on the left, you should boat left

In Oz, everyone has to have a licence to drive a boat, and the boat registered, and people still don't know how to drive, anywhere on the water. What Tony said about driving a car on the left is probably default for most people.
