We have a Truck helping with stock bank protection around Christchurch since the Feb Quake and were on top of the protection work when the Mon Quakes destroyed allot of it and last night we had the high tides with some local rain expected which ment most crews have been working 15 to 20 hrs a day trying to get to a point by last night so that we had enough height in the banks to prevent major flooding. Crews were also placing sand bags expecting a high tide with lots of rain......fortunately the rain didnt come and we were stood down at 9pm last night with no breaches. While that was good news it is small comfort for the people that are once again shoveling crap in the worst streets. Most houses are empty but we still get a wave from the ones that have stayed. It is way worse than what we see on the news and here are a few pics taken from the truck.
Pics dont show just how bad it is
