Yeah had a great time! Was a lot of fun. I had a bit of a look around while I was over there and there are some rivers I would love to take the boat up, might try and plan a trip to work in with next years festival!

Went up to the Waimak gorge (Woodstock) on Saturday, the weather was ok. We were having a few issues with the cooling system, but have them all sorted now so could finally let her rip!

Check out the video we took

Hay, no it is still fixed in the one position, that's next on the list of things to do along with hooking up the bilge pumps. When would you like to book in your test ride? :-) Very happy with this setup!

Had the chance to try this boat today....Now this is the first time I have driven the 12deg hull.....What a cool Boat!!! this thing will give a lexus powered boat a run for its money, if not beat it!!!.
I tried it in some crazy shallow tight channels (Rodney will vouch for that) and I am impressed with the combo, Man it works well, It slides a bit more than the 16deg but I couldnt get it to let go (I tried) The motor and jet are matched with the motor pulling close to 6000rpm WOT but cruse at 3500rpm.
This was all with the trim nozzle set at neutral trim...man you need to get the trim nozz hooked up....What an awesome boat, I cannot believe the top end of the motor!!
I can see why you are so happy with it, To put it into perspective I was out testing in my boat before taking this thing for a drive and Rodney will testify to my excitement to the way it goes, What a cool boat!!

Harris Marine and SDM have done it again! Went on our first "real" trip up the Ashburton on Sunday and the boat performed beyond my expectations. Everyone that witnesses this boat in action is blown away at how well it goes, especially the fact that its "only powered by a 3.5L V6"! Goes to show what great engineering and design can do. I would highly recommend Harris Marine and SDM to anyone looking at a new boat or upgrading an existing hull, as their products are top notch and out perform, everything that I know, out there.

I was very impressed just seeing the fab work and everything, but when I saw it on the water...... HOLY CRAP! That thing RIPS! Can't wait to see the top speed once you can trim that bad boy out.

Anyways, we have a little thread going about this on the maxima boards, and I have a few questions:

Did you end up being able to run the variable cam timing? Also, what the hell is that contraption of a throttle body? Something made specifically for the link g4?

At first I thought you guys were going to do what we would call a "full swap", which would be using the maxima ecu, immobilizer system, and accelerator pedal, but would have been more work and less tunable in the end.

For others doing this, the FSM can be had at boredmder.com/fsm

The fwd vq35 vias assembly is actually probably perfect for your application, we rev these things out anywhere from the regular 6.5k or upwards of 7.5k rpms with rod bolts, and see gains from gutting the shelf and valve in a car, but for a boat I would leave it be assuming you got it functioning with the g4, which I assume you did since it's a straightforward system.

Anyways nice job, without the front precats in place that thing is good for A LOT of hours with minimal service compared to the LS motors, japenese engineering at its finest.

Yes the variable cams are working as well as the variable intake runner (having this working has the same gains as the cams)
Has anyone managed to get them running correctly on the factory ecu? :-)
