Are you sure that those welds will be strong enough
Who said I welded it!!!
It just has that look to it I'm afraid
Gee thanks.. :?
I started making a turn over jig for the body over the weekend which will make the sandblasting/rust repair and paint easy..
I had the chassis sandblasted along with the fuel tank etc and started setting up the front end with 4 pot calipers. Rodney came across some alloy radiators that I am modifying to suit. The clutch is all sorted with a Ceremaic plate from a Isuzu truck that is the correct diameter and spline, and a HD pressure plate.
I have made turn over stands that allow me to turn the body over as I work on it.
I have been working away in the weekends and today Gouldy came to grab his boat...so I gave him a job
Cunning .he`ll get the blame now for any black overspray on the boats in the workshop
Nope...they were all outside or covered!! But thanks for the concern
yea bloody hell made me stay and paint his chassie in trouble with her indoors now but i must say the ride in the race boat was well worth it fastest ive been up and down the mak
Hey...you said you had nothing pressing to do all afternoon, You didnt have to come for a ride...better not be any runs in that paint
Whats a few runs between friends the factory look us painters call it
The factory look aye......more like the "im in a hurry to go for a ride in a fast boat" look!!!
There's no way I'm going to accept the dented header tank. Not in this build.
...yep it will be fixed when powder coated
Hi mike have just started the same transplant on a hz 1tonner i would love to see photos of what you did to the sump or what sump you used and your engine mounts did you fab yourself and if so would you consider making more and how much.
Mal
Hi Mal, I made the sump as it was the only way to get the motor low and back far enough. Yes I made the mounts. Making more mounts is easy enough, Have you got some pics of your ute? What Trans are you using? I have decided to go back to the auto, Mike
Just lazy
early stages in the build i have just picked up another cab and chassis as the bulkhead on mine was a bit past it.Im using motor and auto out of a vt ss commadore.Have been looking at what they call a f sump for it as it is a rear pickup.
