The new forum looks great.
I understand that riverboat designs are commercially sensitive, but I am looking for any ideas from experienced jetboaters. Boat for family and adventure.
Pictures are from CAD, but developed panels are much smoother. The CAD, if allowed, just smooths all the curves, and the hard chine and delta disappear
Beam at chines is 1,600 mm, beam 1,800.
Loa 4,500, Lwl ~4,000,
Displacement 1,200 kg @ 350 draught
A Chine is flat and 100 wide tapering to 50 mm at the bow.
Delta is 280 wide at transom, tip at 3,000.
Transom dead rise is 13 deg delta to chine, or 10 degrees center to chine.
I see a lot of Chines running to the bow - is it better for spray in the lumpy stuff?
100 mm chines could be a little wide?
Taking some width out will flatten the deadrise. Though better grip when turning?
300 mm delta width better for a Scottjet or one of Tuidorg's Kodiack.
Any comments on the power curver for this engine, I beleive torque is marginal, but pile on the boost it will do 300 hp, though .55 lb BFSC. Light motor / big fuel tank.
Cheers - 5 years 2 months and the parasite has left university, = money for a boat.
